Tenancy By the Entireties

Acronym: TBE

A form of real-estate title available only to married couples where neither spouse's individual creditors can reach the property.

Recognized in Virginia and about 25 other states. At death, the surviving spouse takes the entire property by operation of law — no probate for that asset.
