Dynasty trust

In plain English

A long-duration irrevocable trust designed to preserve wealth across multiple generations without each transfer triggering estate/gift tax.

Typically domiciled in states that have abolished the common-law "rule against perpetuities" (Delaware, South Dakota, Nevada, Wyoming) so the trust can theoretically run forever.
